IT FOOT, IT EARS is comprised of guitarist Jason Rabb's no strumming songs and percussionist Nick Foster's polyrhythmic noise making. Rabb and Foster met while studying music at the University of Utah, where they were proclaimed experts by the Composition department. In school they performed analyses of the rumbles and bends of experimental composers Harry Partch, Conlon Nancarrow, Stravinsky and Cage. But they have always kept up on their song and dance workouts. Nick Foster rounds out Rabb's simultaneous stomping basslines and melodic tidbits with a ragtag collection of ratchets, shovels, lion's roar, a momentum upright vacuum cleaner with filtration system, and occasional pauses for breakfast during live performances.
